Thoughtful therapy, at your pace.
Therapeutic Approaches
My work is grounded in a trauma-informed lens, with attention to safety, pacing, and nervous system regulation. Therapy is approached thoughtfully and collaboratively, honoring readiness and helping clients move toward challenges in a way that feels manageable and supportive.
I understand healing as something that happens in the context of relationships. Therapy focuses on patterns of connection, trust, and emotional safety, helping clients better understand how past and present relationships shape their experiences.
I tailor therapy to each client’s developmental stage and life context. With children and adolescents, this may include play-based or creative approaches and caregiver collaboration. With adults, therapy often emphasizes reflection, insight, and skill-building—always aligned with individual goals and capacity.
Therapy may involve exploring patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses, as well as developing practical tools for emotional regulation, coping, and decision-making. This balance between insight and skills is guided by what is most helpful for each client.
I approach therapy with cultural humility and with an LGBTQ+ affirming, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive lens, recognizing how identity, family, culture, power, and systemic inequities shape lived experience and access to care. My goal is to offer a space that feels inclusive, reflective, and responsive, where clients feel respected and supported.
I draw from evidence-based and evidence-informed practices, including CBT- and DBT-informed strategies, trauma-focused interventions (such as TF-CBT-informed approaches), and Motivational Interviewing. Interventions are integrated flexibly, rather than applied rigidly, to meet each client’s needs.
